For those using insurance we are happy to provide the service of billing your insurance company on your behalf and will accept payment from them directly, but any monies owed on your account are ultimately your responsibility per the financial agreement you signed.
You should receive an explanation of benefits from your insurance company after they process our claims. If anything on there seems different that what we quoted you in our estimate or it appears they are denying any claims, please call us. The vast majority of the time this is easily explainable as either a normal contracted write off or a billing error on our part that can be easily corrected. Our goal is to provide as much transparency as possible and take away any uneasiness around the billing process. For this to happen we just ask you communicate with us to help us work through any issues or confusion.
Payment in office
All copays and payment for services not covered by insurance will be collected at the time of service. If you are unable to pay at the time of your visits please let us know and we can work with you to set up a payment plan.
Deductibles and-co insurance
For patients with deductible and co insurance plans, we will bill your insurance and then send you a statement for your balance.
Health savings accounts (HSAs, HRAs)
We do accept payments from HSAs. Most all of our services are acceptable to submit to your HSA, however we are not a part of your contract with your HSA plan so ultimately it is up to you to verify what they do and do not accept. If you need we are happy to send you itemized statements to submit for HSA reimbursement at any time.
Paperless billing
Downtown Chiropractic Clinic utilizes a paperless billing system, Collectly, to send statements for patients with a remaining balance after insurance processing. This system greatly reduces the cost and burden on our staff related to collecting patient balances, helping to allow us to keep our prices affordable. The system also provides a number of conveniences to you the patient as it eliminates the need to send in paper checks or call our office to give us card information over the phone.
By default we will use this system for all of our patients, however if you prefer the traditional paper statements in the mail please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.
